Stoneheights is a spacious first floor one bedroom apartment in a fabulous quiet setting just 7 miles from Sedbergh and Kirkby Stephen in Cumbria, close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Stoneheights adjoins our other two properties, Stoneyard and Stoneview to form a delighful courtyard setting with spectacular views across the Howgill fells. When all 3 properties are booked together we can accommodate up to 18 guests. Stoneheights is situated on the first floor above Stoneyard cottage and has fantastic views from every window. The spacious accommodation is full of character with high ceilings & oak trusses and the interior has been carefully styled and includes exposed stonework and a cosy wood burning stove. It is a perfect retreat for cosy couples in a very peaceful setting.
Stoneheights Layout
Stoneheights is accessed by a set of thirteen stone steps leading from the garden. There is a parking space at the bottom of the steps. There is a spacious open plan kitchen & lounge leading into a double ensuite bedroom .The fully fitted oak kitchen is well planned and has everything you need to cook and includes an oven, hob, fridge, microwave, toaster and dishwasher. The dining table can seat up to 4 persons. The lounge has a sofa, single chair and the lighting has been thoughtfully planned with a choice of ceiling, wall and table lamps. The TV has freeview with an integrated DVD system and we have a selection of DVD's in our map room. The ensuite has a power shower and towels are provided on arrival. Linen is included. Stoneheights can accommodate a travel cot and / or an extra single fold out bed in the lounge, There is no extra charge for this. The garden area is shared with our other properties and has far reaching views across the vally which enjoys spectacular sunsets.
All our properties are wi-fi enabled. Travel cot and high chair available.
We run a small trekking centre and can arrange horse riding during your stay. We have a fabulous selection of bridleways leading directly from the farm. Please contact us if you would like more details or take a look at our riding website which has some great photos and more details. The riding is quite popular and as we are a small centre advance booking is essential.
We have mountain bikes for hire and endless walking routes straight from your door with a good choice for all abilities. There is an easy walk across the fields to our local village which has a shop and a pub and or if you fancy something a bit tougher you can hike straight up to the top of Wild Boar Fell. Our walking page has some route suggestions but please ask if you would like our advice, we are very experienced at the local terrain and love helping you plan your routes.
The Eden Valley has a great choice of popular attractions for all ages. Children ( and gown ups ! ) love to visit the Ice Cream Parlour at Brough Castle and the Wensledale Creamery at Hawes ( made famous by Wallice & Gromit ). There are activity centres, historic houses and farmers markets and a calendar of country firs and events throughout the year. Stoneheights is not suitable for dogs. Our other two properties welcome dogs. Own horses are welcome with excellent holiday livery facilities.
