Daily Itinerary

Day One - Friday

Arrive at 2pm and settle in to your accommodation. Meet the horses and enjoy an afternoon ride to get to know your horse. In the evening we sit and enjoy drinks in the garden before a homecooked dinner in the farmhouse.

Day Two - Saturday

A circular full day ride with a godd variety of pace through the beautiful Howgill fells. The scenery is very inspiring and we often pass by herds of free roaming fell ponies and spot the occasional red deer. We head into our local village called Ravenstonedale for a pub lunch and afterwards enjoy a fast canter across the top of Ash fell. We normally arrive back around 4pm with enough time to take a rest before a quick drink in the local pub and dinner back at the farmhouse.

Days Three & Four  - Sunday & Monday

On days 3 & 4 we ride our "Eden Valley Express" route which is our 2 day fast trail ride to Crosby Garrett and back. Part of this route is used by Cumbria Endurance for their very popular annual national endurance ride where you can expect some great long canters. The route takes us through the Smardale nature reserve and we stop for picnic lunches on both days. On Sunday evening we dine out in one of our favorite local Inns and on Monday we dine at the famhouse.

Day Five - Tuesday

On Tuesday we indulge ourselves a little. We set off early and enjoy a half day ride in the Howgills followed by a choice of a sports massage, yoga session or a trip to a local spa. In the evening we take you to world famous Tan Hill Inn, the highest pub in England.

Day Six  - Wedneday

On Wednesday its back in the saddle for a full day ride into the Mallerstang Valley along the Pennine Bridleway. We enjoy some excellent canters along the "highway" an ancient drovers road now a green lane, and we picnic by Hellgill, where a local highwayman is reputed to have jumped the gorge on his horse to escape capture ( he was caught later at the local Inn ! ) Dinner is served in the farmhouse.

Day 7 - Thursday

If we were to make a guess our customers would say we have saved the best till last. Our day ride to Nateby and back is one of our most popular rides with a good pub lunch halfway. On our last evening we dine at a lovely historic coaching Inn with and chat about our highlights of the week. Departure is 10am Friday morning with plenty of time to say a final goodbye to the horses and your fellow riders.
