Starting your daily rides could not be easier. A short grass track leads you direct from our gate onto the Pennine Bridleway, Englands longest purpose made bridleway in England. From here you can choose to head south and enjoy the spectacular views over Wild Boar fell and ride through the beautiful Mallerstang Valley passing the ruins of fairytale castles. Or you could head north through the sleepy village of Ravenstonedale and ride part of the Eden Valley Loops. In another direction you can trek through the Howgill fells and almost lose yourself in the scenery which seems to go on forever. Picnic lunches can be enjoyed anywhere you fancy or head to one of a few pubs. We have mapped lots of petal loops so if you wish you can just follow our notes and take your pick how long you wish to ride for. In June 2010 we hosted a Cumbria Endurance event using a 14k and a 16k circular route which proved very popular. An excellent day ride will take you to the Smardale valley which includes a large section of Eden Valley Loop 5 and this is one of the most popular rides we offer our trail riding customers
The Eden Valley Riding Centre is a specialist Horse Holiday centre owned and run by Alison and David Roper. Opened in 2008, the centre also provides trekking and long distance trail riding holidays across an extensive network of bridleways in the Eden Valley and Yorkshire Dales and as such we are very well informed about the local terrain and the best riding routes. As part of your holiday we provide a personal guiding service on your first day to help you get to know the area and during your stay we are on hand to provide as much help as you need with further days guiding available if required. Our facilities have been carefully designed for horses on holiday to make sure we offer a well organised, calm and safe place for your horse. We understand that some guests are very experienced at taking their horse on holiday whilst for others, this may be their first time. Our aim is to simply make sure you have everything you need when you arrive and then allow you to get on with your holiday with the knowledge that help and advice is on hand if you need it.
Our Horse Holidays are quickly becoming a popular destination for riders seeking a high standard of accommodation, well organised livery facilities and great riding - click here to read the reviews from our horse holiday guests in 2011.
