Great Choice of Daily Riding Routes

Our gate leads you directly onto a bridleway where you can enjoy miles of open fell routes which include the Pennine Bridleway and a great choice of routes across the Eden Valley. We ride our routes every day and we can help you as much as you wish to pick the most suitable route for your group. You can choose from a one hour hack to a full day ride with either a picnic or a pub stop.

Accommodation Choices - Self Catering or B&B

You can choose to stay on site with your horse in one of our luxury self catering cottages which overlook the paddocks or stay locally in a B&B. Centre based horse holidays have certain advantages over trail type holidays. You can vary the amount of riding you do each day to suit you and your horse and you can include as much non horsey activities as you wish. This type of holiday is particularly suitable when you have non riding partners in your group or if you are new to horse holidays as we can provide you with as much help as you need during your stay.

Luxury Accommodation & Spa Facilities

You can rest assure that your Horse Holiday will be a well deserved break when you see the accommodation awaiting you. Our three luxury self catering properties have been designed with maximum comfort in mind with stylish interiors, power showers and crisp white linen. Carefully converted to retain their original architectural features each property has been individually styled offering a blend of rustic charm in a contemporary setting with exposed trusses and wood burning stoves for cosy nights after a long days riding on the fells. New for 2012 is our onsite spa just a few steps from your accommodation which includes a jacuzzi and hot tub, with use included in the price of your stay. Outside you can enjoy a shared garden and courtyard with stunning views across the valley, perfect for evening drinks.

Walk to the local Inn

There is no need to bother with the cooking because we have several excellent Inns close by, one of which is within walking distance ( The Fat Lamb) which offers a mid week meal discount for our residents.

Livery Facilities

Our centre has purpose built facilities for horses on holiday. Our yard is run on a professional basis and offers you and your horse everything you need to make the most of your special time together. We maintain a clean, safe and easy to work environment and offer as much help as you need throughout your stay. Our holiday livery charges include the following:

Detailed route maps
12ft x 12ft stables fitted with rubber matting.
Grazing with post and rail fencing - water fed.
Tack & feed room
Wheelbarrows, mucking out tools, water buckets.
Parking - we have ample parking for boxes or trailers and the access from the road is excellent being an unfenced level track with a large unloading / turning circle

Horse Holiday Prices 2012

To calculate the cost of your Horse Holiday you need to add the cost of your accommodation to the livery cost:

Accomodation Prices

Horse Holidays are available as either a 4 night break starting on a Monday or a 7 night break starting on either a Friday or a Monday. We have three self catering properties next to the stables which can accommodate from 2 to 10 persons. A typical cost for a property which can sleep between 2 and 4 persons is £345 for a 4 night mid week break or £645 for a 7 night break. Livery Prices

Livery charges for guests who stay in our cottages are £10 per horse ( residents ) which includes grazing and optional use of stable, use of arena, parking and route maps. Livery charges for guests who stay locally elsewhere is £15 per night. This includes an optional early morning / late night feed service.

Availability & Booking Process

To check availability for all our Horse Holiday options please telephone or email Alison with details of the number of persons and horses, preferred dates and accommodation choice. All horses must be fully insured and up to date with vaccinations and worming when they arrive. We are a fully licenced centre with Eden District Council and an approved livery yard with the BHS and operate a code of conduct which you would expect to ensure the safety and well being of all persons and horses who use our facilities. Full details will be provided at the time of booking.
